CTC at Fort Osage Celebrates 50 Years

Nov 02, 2018

The Career & Technology Center recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with an open house jubilee. The open house, held at the CTC at 2101 N. Twyman Road in Independence, included interactive activities and demonstrations of the CTC's programs, including Culinary Arts, Fire Science and Robotics, several displays and prize drawings.

The CTC also featured "50 for 50," a campaign released through Facebook last week that showcased 50 alumni and how they've used their CTC skills and training after graduation. The CTC was excited to welcome retired instructors, including Mrs. Ann Franklin and Mr. Glen Snyder, who were employed when the center opened it's doors in 1968, along with an estimated 200 guests.

"Our students and teachers have put in a lot of hard work preparing for this event," said Mike Pantleo, Director of the CTC. "We're excited to welcome back alumni, their families and students considering us for their academic future."
